Happy HalloweenfromSuper Kody & Wiley the Musketeer Super Kody and Wiley want to welcome you to their Halloween page. Below you will see the daring duo in their costumes, ready to head out for the Roundup Halloween parade. Let's see how they look. . . . . Oh my, Wiley is looking daper in his new costume. One of the three musketeers! We dubbed him Aramis, not like the cologne, but after one of the musketeers. Doesn't he just look thrilled to death? Wiley was so excited about all this fuss, he just had to lay down. Hey, even musketeers need rest now and then! Now here are some handsome fellas! Super Kody and his brother Wiley -- what a pair of super heros! What is that look I see in their eyes? Pride? Courage? Abject humiliation? Hmmm.....I wonder. Now I know what that look is -- thankfulness that Halloween only comes around once a year! That's it! (But they are adorable aren't they?) The moment of truth - the Roundup Halloween Parade. This was taken moments before the mass pandemonium began. Would you like to hear the story? Well, read on . . . . . The Roundup Halloween Parade O.K., what do you call 100 screaming, hyper costumed children, fire engines with sirens blaring and two schipperkes fresh off the ranch?? MASS PANDEMONIUM!!!!!!!!!!!! Now, I will be the first to admit that Kody and Wiley are not the best "socialized" schips in the world. There just aren't enough people who live in our area for that -- the schips have met lots of new folks but it usually is on a one to one basis. Envision this -- I am walking to the parking lot where there is a huge crowd of milling people . . . .children, parents and friends. The schips immediately pick up on the "charged" atmosphere and Wiley starts pattycaking like a mad man. His musketeer hat is under his chin more than on his head. Super Kody has dissolved into a quivering mass on the pavement -- terror written plainly in his eyes. (Many giggles from on-lookers as to our super hero's courage -- ahem!) In fact, he backs up while on the leash and slips right out of his collar. Now our super hero is winding his way through all the ghosts and goblins with me frantically trying to catch him while dragging a wildly patty-caking Wiley! The parade begins while I am trying to get Kody back on leash and hold on to the other wild man whose hat is now on the side of his head looking like a purple tumor. We finally are all adjusted and end up last in the parade -- the fire engine leading the parade lets loose with more sirens and Kody is clawing at me to pick him up and comfort him. Wiley has spotted a 10 week old Min. Schnauzer puppy just ahead of us and manages to walk the full two block parade route on his back legs while patty-caking madly to see this little pup. Add on top of this masked and hooded creatures running up to us screaming -- "DOGGIES!! CAN I PET YOUR DOGGIES?" It didn't take me long to wonder what the heck I had gotten poor Kody and Wiley in too. After we were done (this was only a time span of about 10 minutes), I hurried them back to the truck and apologized all the way home. I felt just awful that I had subjected them to such trauma and I thought it was all going to be such fun. Poor little babies. As an added bonus, I am including some photos of Schipperke friends I was lucky enough to spend some time with on my last business trip! Nicest folks you ever want to meet . . . .let me introduce you! This is Larry & Sue Vogel with JackSeattle, Washington Myself, Sue & the infamous Jack And here he is in all his Schipperke splendorJACK! It was my honor to stay with Doug and Jaqui Thompson in beautiful Victoria, Vancouver Island, B.C. Here Jaqui is pictured with their two schips, Miss Scarlett (l) and Seamus (r). (I know, nice shot of Jaqui! Well, I was using a throw away camera and just wasn't used to it! Sorry Jaqui!) Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and visit our little costumed goblins! Hope you enjoyed yourself and as I keep telling Kody & Wiley . . . "there is always next year"!! Stay tuned! Since you are here, won't you please visit some of our other pages?
